A man a word, a woman a dictionary

In a women’s tournament, a Spaniard played against an Englishwoman. The position was totally the same and the Spaniard saw the right moment to offer a draw. “Tablas?” (i.e. draw in Spanish) “Draw?” was the British reply. The Spaniard then turned to a French woman standing by for help, who readily gave the answer: “Nulle!” (i.e. draw in French). Then the game continued…
